Gardai have named the woman killed in a road accident at Cregg near Rosses Point in Co Sligo last night.

She was 33-year-old Rianna McCarron, of the Blennicks, Rosses Point and was married with three children.

She died when the car, which she was driving, hit a stone pillar at around 8.50pm last night.

It is believed that black ice on the road could have caused the tragedy.

Mrs McCarron was pronounced dead at the scene by a local doctor, and her body was taken to Sligo General Hospital.
