The Football Association of Ireland is holding a breakfast time summit with the Taoiseach to discuss the possibility of becoming involved in the Stadium Ireland project.
The meeting is a considerable turn about by the soccer governing body, which had refused to consider moving to the new stadium until recently.
The meeting follows a decision to enter into talks with the Government that was taken at a recent meeting of FAI officials.
A statement is expected from the Sports Minister, Jim McDaid, later this afternoon when he announces the winning architectural design for the stadium.
