Juan Pablo Angel looks set to complete his £9.5m move to Aston Villa after securing a work permit.

The Department for Education and Employment sanctioned the permit, which runs out at the end of the 2004-05 season, immediately on their return after the Christmas break.

The Colombian international has registered too late to play in Sunday's FA Cup tie against Newcastle, and should now make his debut in the home match with Liverpool on January 13.
