The new Fine Gael leader Michael Noonan has outlined his vision for the party at a news conference at the Mansion House, Dublin this afternoon.
After his landslide victory, Mr Noonan detailed how he hopes to be the next Taoiseach and ensure everyone enjoys the benefits of the economy.
"For this generation, I believe the debate is about equity; it is about freedom for all. It is also about how we use the wealth we create in the interest of all our people," said the Fine Gael leader.
"All modern democracies have free market economies. The more successful ones are very competitive and have very flexible policies towards the labour market."
