More Irish aid needed in Ethiopia

It is expected that aid from Ireland for Ethiopia will exceed €27m this year.

It is expected that aid from Ireland for Ethiopia will exceed €27m this year.

However, more needs to be done as eleven million people in the third world country are facing starvation.

According to Niall Andrews from the European Parliament, the latest crisis means that clean water and food is even less available for the African country.

He says while Ireland has responded generously to the crises, there is a lot more help needed and the international community need to come on board as well.
