Former Cork county board chairman Jim Cronin has revealed he never envisaged the strike action which is currently rocking the GAA.
Cronin stepped down as chairman at the county convention on the weekend and took the opportunity to express his regret at the current situation.
Cronin said: "After they (Cork football team) won the Munster final, the team captain told the board the team was very pleased with the manner in which they were treated. It was the same after the All-Ireland semi-final.
"I have to question how three months later things could be portrayed so differently."
