The house where a pipe bomb was found in Belfast last night is owned by a brother of the RUC chief constable Sir Ronnie Flanagan.

The house where a pipe bomb was found in Belfast last night is owned by a brother of the RUC chief constable Sir Ronnie Flanagan.

The house was unoccupied at the time.

Meanwhile, the Northern Secretary Peter Mandelson is urging loyalists to turn their backs on those behind the recent wave of pipe bombings against the homes of republicans and Catholics.

Mr Mandelson said those behind the attacks clearly cannot come to terms with the progress that is being made in the North.
