Gardaí investigate Newbridge raid

Gardaí in Co Kildare are investigating an armed robbery at Newbridge Greyhound Stadium last night.

Gardaí in Co Kildare are investigating an armed robbery at Newbridge Greyhound Stadium last night.

Four men entered the stadium wearing balaclavas and gloves at about 10.30pm.

One was armed with a double barrel shotgun and one was armed with a slash hook.

The other two were unarmed.

The culprits got away with an undisclosed amount of money belonging to the Tote operating at the venue.

Staff and patrons were threatened during the course of the robbery but no shots were fired or persons injured.
