The body of Congolese president Laurent Kabila will lie in state in Kinshasa for two days before his funeral.
His body will be flown from Harare to Lubumbashi in the Democratic Republic of the Congo on Saturday for a private service.
Mr Kabila's remains will then be taken to the country's capital on Sunday where it will lie until the funeral on Tuesday.
Laurent Kabila was shot inside his palace on Tuesday, and was taken to Zimbabwe for treatment.
Officials in the DRC have not yet said when his 31-year-old son, Joseph, will be sworn in as the new head of state.
