Bradford striker Dean Windass is set for clear-the-air talks with chairman Geoffrey Richmond in a bid to find out if he has a future at Valley Parade.
Windass is "confused" and "disappointed" at speculation claiming he can join the growing exodus under boss Jim Jefferies providing City receive £1.5million.
Benito Carbone, Stan Collymore, Matt Clarke and Dan Petrescu are all up for grabs, with the latter player set to move to Southampton.
But Windass, who five days ago started negotiations regarding a new deal, is planning to speak with both Jefferies and Richmond, albeit realising any player is available providing the price is right.
"I'm totally surprised by this because I was only recently in the chairman's office trying to sort out a new contract," said Windass.
"Now I read I'm up for sale and I can go for the right price, but the manager hasn't said anything and neither has the chairman since that meeting.
"Obviously every player has his price and it seems if they get £1.5million then they will let me go. That really disappoints me.
"Given the situation at the club with the way players are being told they can leave, and with the others in the dressing room saying I'm another that can go, it is very confusing.
"I'll know the situation when I have another chat with the manager and the chairman, but I'm a Bradford player until I'm told differently.
"I just want to try and keep Bradford in the Premiership, but if the club want to sell me then I can't do anything about that.
"To be honest I would like to see out the rest of my career here, in particular because I don't want to unsettle my family. I've moved too many times in the past."
"But if the contract is not right then obviously I'm not going to stay," said Windass.
Although Richmond dismisses the fact either Middlesbrough or Leicester have made an approach for Windass, there is the clear indication any offer for the 31-year-old would be discussed.
"There have been no offers for Dean Windass and we certainly haven't agreed a fee with anyone," said Richmond.
"But it would be unfair of me to discuss Dean's future because until someone comes in it is a hypothetical situation. I'm sure Jim would only look at it if and when it happens."
