Anna Kournikova admitted that she had been out-smarted after her defeat to Lindsay Davenport at the Australian Open.
Kournikova had no answer to the reigning champion, who won 6-4 6-2.
Davenport set up a repeat of last year's semi-final with fellow American Jennifer Capriati.
Kournikova said: "Lindsay played smarter than me. She has more experience of big matches, but this gives me more experience.
"I think I just have to play the same, but be more consistent.
"I will win Grand Slams. You can never say it's going to happen tomorrow, in one year or five years, but I know I am a good player and if I keep improving my game will come together and everything will be fine."
Davenport said: "Anna gives you some free points sometimes, but in every match I feel I've played better and it's great to feel that at a Grand Slam."
