A town in Japan is claiming to be the real home of Jesus.

The people of Shingo say it wasn't Christ who died on the cross, but his brother.

They believe Christ fled across Siberia and Alaska and ended up in Japan where he settled in Shingo.

Townsfolk also say Jesus married there, had three daughters and lived to be 106.

Shingo also claims to have the real tomb of Christ in nearby woods, the ABC News website reports.

Before the Second World War, a priest claimed to have discovered ancient scrolls telling of Christ's escape.

The scrolls were reported to be Christ's last will and testament.

According to them, one tomb at Shingo contains the ears of Jesus' brother Isukiri and a lock of the Virgin Mary's hair, while the remains of Christ are in the other tomb.

The only surviving copy of the scrolls is in the museum at Shingo.
