The number of Fine Gael TDs who have come forward in favour of John Bruton's removal as leader has increased.

Cavan/Monaghan Deputy Seymour Crawford has joined fellow Dail representatives Olivia Mitchell, Paul McGrath and Louis Belton in calling for a change at the head of the party.

Meanwhile, Mr Bruton can count on the support of deputy leader Nora Owen, Mayo TD Enda Kenny and chief whip Charlie Flanagan.
