Leeds skipper Rio Ferdinand and midfielder Eirik Bakke will have early-morning fitness tests ahead of tomorrow’s high-noon showdown with Manchester United at Elland Road.
Ferdinand is struggling with a knee injury which sidelined him for last week’s victory at Leicester, along with England’s midweek friendly defeat against Italy.
Norway international Bakke has a thigh problem, but Leeds are boosted in midfield with the return of Lee Bowyer following the completion of a six-match ban.
Centre back Dominic Matteo is doubtful with a calf injury sustained in Scotland’s 5-0 international humiliation against France, while Olivier Dacourt, could possibly miss the rest of the season with a hamstring strain.
