Two people were killed and 13 others were taken to hospital after a four-car crash in West Yorkshire.
Police say the horrific accident took place shortly after midnight in Bradford Road, Batley.
One of the dead, a 17-year-old, who has not been named, was travelling in the rear of a Toyota taxi. The man who died has not been identified and police have yet to establish which vehicle he was in.
The three other cars involved were a Ford Mondeo, a Nissan Micra and an Audi.
Sergeant Alan Kaye says 10 people, including one pedestrian, were taken to hospital. Two of them suffered serious injuries.
Three people who went to help at the scene suffered severe shock and also needed hospital treatment.
"It appears the Audi and the Toyota were travelling in the same direction and collided and, thereafter, two other vehicles were involved," Sergeant Kaye says.
"We have yet to establish exactly what happened and are appealing for witnesses .
"All the vehicles involved suffered extensive damage. It was a chaotic and horrific scene for quite some time with the amount of debris and injury."
