The ISEQ fell 83.36 today, closing at 6,674.87 today, with financial stocks all dropping in value today.
Shares in Allied Irish Bank fell back 20c today to €16.10 while Bank of Ireland shares slipped 20c to €12.77.
Anglo Irish Bank shares slipped back 20c to €20.25 while Irish Life & Permanent fell back 15c to €14.80.
Meanwhile shares in bookmaker Paddy Power slipped 13c today to €12.77. The company announced record turnover, operating profit and earnings per share for 2004. Profit after tax was €27.5m, up 56.6% from last year's €17.6m.
Wholesale distributor Unidare revealed a successful contract completion in the UK has boosted the company's business. Shares in Unidare climbed 10c to €3.50.
Other fallers today including building groups CRH, down 36c to €21.13 while Grafton slipped 20c to €9.80.
Pharmaceutical group Elan toppled 77c to €20.25 today.
The most traded shares today were AIB, Anglo, Ryanair, CRH and Bank of Ireland.
