The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern has said he is not worried about the possible legal challenge to the ban on opinion polls in the final week in the lead-up to elections.

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern has said he is not worried about the possible legal challenge to the ban on opinion polls in the final week in the lead-up to elections.

Mr Ahern also denied the reports that the Government had received advice that such a move would be illegal.

The Taoiseach said the ban would allow people to reflect on how they want to vote without the influences of outside interferences.
