An Aer Arann plane on a flight from Dublin to Sheffield careered off the runway in Yorkshire last night after a tyre burst.

An Aer Arann plane on a flight from Dublin to Sheffield careered off the runway in Yorkshire last night after a tyre burst.

The 30 passengers on board the plane were uninjured in the incident, which happened at about 7.30pm.

The airport was closed for a short time last night, and managing director John Horne said an investigation was underway.
