Twelve of Mozambique’s top footballers were killed in a bus crash today.

Twelve of Mozambique’s top footballers were killed in a bus crash today.

The bus, carrying 25 passengers including players with the Wane Pone Football Club, one of the country’s leading teams, collided with a stationery truck near the southern city of Inhambane.

“We convey our sorrow to the relatives of the victims of this tragedy,” said Mario Coluna, chairman of the Mozambican Football Association.

Hospital officials said that three of the injured were in critical condition.
