Teenager falls into Wexford river

A search operation is underway in Co Wexford for a 19-year-old man who fell into the River Barrow at New Ross early today.

A search operation is underway in Co Wexford for a 19-year-old man who fell into the River Barrow at New Ross early today.

The teenager was seen falling from New Ross Bridge at around 1pm.

Two people went to help the man but he was swept away by strong currents.

Local gardaí and the New Ross search and rescue team have joined the operation.
