The Arizona Diamondbacks have won this year’s baseball World Series after beating the New York Yankees 3-2 in Game Seven in Phoenix last night.
The Diamondbacks rallied for two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning against the Yankees’ normally untouchable closer, Mariano Rivera, to become the fastest team to a title, winning in just their fourth year.
In the process, they ended the Yankees’ three-year World Series run and denied the New Yorkers their 27th championship.
