An oral hearing into the proposed granting of a waste licence for a controversial incinerator project in Co Meath is due to get underway today.

An oral hearing into the proposed granting of a waste licence for a controversial incinerator project in Co Meath is due to get underway today.

The Environmental Protection Agency has already granted a draft licence to Indaver Ireland to operate the incinerator at Carranstown.

However, a permanent licence will only be granted after all interested parties have an opportunity to object at this week's oral hearing, which is taking place in nearby Drogheda.
