The Minister for Justice has said he cannot rule out the possibility of a formal inquiry into the 1970 Arms Trial.

The Minister for Justice has said he cannot rule out the possibility of a formal inquiry into the 1970 Arms Trial.

Speaking from Co Monaghan, where he has been visiting border checkpoints with Agriculture Minister Joe Walsh, John O'Donoghue said that while allegations have been made, it is important to "keep things in perspective".

However, he said, a fuller investigation is possible and he does not want to rule anything out.
