Derry City 3 Longford Town 1

Derry hit form to end Longford's winning run at the Brandywell.

A dreadful first half was soon forgotten when Sam Morrow fired Derry in front after a one-two with Kevin McHugh three minutes into the second.

Both sides hit the woodwork before McHugh put Derry two up on 77 minutes, shooting low past Shay Kelly.

Dave Mooney scored his sixth goal in five games from an 80th minute penalty after Peter Hutton had fouled him to give Longford hope.

But Ciaran Martyn sealed the points for Derry with their third goal two minutes from time.
