Former Tottenham defender Christian Ziege has thanked the club’s fans for giving him an emotional send-off.

Former Tottenham defender Christian Ziege has thanked the club’s fans for giving him an emotional send-off.

The former Germany international has been released by the north London club but and admitted his reception from fans in his last home game against Blackburn almost moved him to tears.

“The reception in the final home game against Blackburn was amazing,” he told the club’s official website www.spurs.co.uk.

“That meant a lot to me and almost brought me to tears. It was very emotional. Thanks for that and I will always remember it.

“It’s been a fantastic three years apart from the injuries and the support I’ve been given has been superb. As I said, it has meant a lot to me.”
