Scotland coach Matt Williams wants his team to follow the example of England’s World Cup winning heroes and build a powerful force with many leaders.
The Australian is continuing to groom his young squad for future championships but he plans to name many different captains over the coming years.
Williams said: “We are more than likely over the next two years to try different captains.
“We don’t want the group to walk away from their leadership responsibilities and then the burden of the team falls on one person.
“We will change captains and therefore a natural captain will emerge from the group, however, we still need leaders to be in that group – six or seven.
“If you look at the current English world champions you have Martin Johnson who is a colossus as a captain but there are many leaders underneath him in that team.”
