Lifeboat rescues 20 kayakers in Strangford Lough

More than 20 kayakers are recovering after being rescued when they got into difficulty in Strangford Lough in the North this afternoon.

More than 20 kayakers are recovering after being rescued when they got into difficulty in Strangford Lough in the North this afternoon.

The RNLI lifeboat service and the coastguard helicopter were called in when the group got into distress at around 1pm.

Four of the kayakers were brought to Portaferry on the lifeboat after they were rescued from the water.

No one was injured in the incident and all are now safe.
