A 33-year-old man from Scotland has been charged with having sex with children in Romania and engaging in pornographic activities with them, authorities said today.

Police in the north-eastern county of Vaslui said police stopped the man’s truck as they were searching for a nine-year-old boy who had gone missing.

The missing boy was found in the truck, as well as a 13-year-old boy and a laptop computer containing pornographic images of children.

Police named the suspect as James Connor.

They claimed he offered the children money and food to have sex with him and then filmed them. Police have identified five alleged victims.

Police spokeswoman Mihaela Straub said a court ruled on Monday that the suspect will be held for 29 days, a decision the man’s lawyer will appeal.
