'X Factor' loser Jade Ellis consoled herself with the “real treat” of a reunion with her daughter after being kicked off the hit talent show.

The singer became the fourth act to leave the singing competition after three judges opted to save boyband Union J last night.

Ellis said she was “gutted” to leave but described the show as a “great platform” and said she was happy to see her daughter Caiden.

The 25-year-old told ITV1’s Daybreak: “She’s only little, she’s only six so it’s a real treat to get to see her again.”

Ellis also spoke up in defence of her mentor Tulisa Contostavlos after Gary Barlow complained about her “fag ash breath” on Saturday’s show.

She said: “I don’t even know where to begin. It’s just something you don’t say to a lady, especially on national TV.”

Last night the N-Dubz star stepped out on stage with a deliberate nicotine patch on her arm in defiance.

She also got an apology from Barlow on ITV2’s 'The Xtra Factor', where he said: “Can I apologise to Tulisa. I mean it – you have the freedom to be as personal as you like to me for the rest of the series. Insult me.”

Contostavlos then told the spin-off show that Barlow once said he “loved” the smell of cigarettes because it reminded him of the days when he used to smoke.

Singer Lucy Spraggan automatically went through to next week’s programme after being unable to perform due to illness.
