Power is starting to return to homes after storms battered the country overnight.
Up to 15,000 ESB customers were in darkness this morning after power lines were damaged. This number has been reduced to 10,000 homes so far today.
Donegal and Sligo in the North West were the worst hit areas with thousands also affected in the Midlands.
The power outages came after high winds and driving rain overnight, which saw wind speeds reach up to 160kms per hour near the north coast.
Met Eireann's Joan Blackburn warned there was more to come.
"The day will see extremely windy and stormy conditions, especially through the morning," she said.
Meanwhile, flights and ferry sailings have been affected by this morning's weather conditions.
Irish Ferries cancelled its 8.45am and 2.30pm Dublin to Holyhead Swift crossings.
There are also a number of flight cancellations and delays as a result of high winds at many airports.
Passengers are advised to check with their airline before setting out to the airport.
