Exports up 9%

Exports increased by 9% in October relative to September and imports increased by 1%, according to figures released today by the Central Statistics Office.

Exports increased by 9% in October relative to September and imports increased by 1%, according to figures released today by the Central Statistics Office.

Relative to August 2007, exports in September decreased by 5%, while imports decreased by 1%.

On an unadjusted basis, the value of exports in October 2007 was €7.7bn, up 1% on October 2006, while the value of imports was €5.45bn, no change.

The value of exports in September 2007 was €7.3bn, down 3% on September 2006, while the value of imports was €4.7bn, down 5%.
