McCoist pondering Miller move

Rangers manager Ally McCoist is considering a move to re-sign Kenny Miller for what would be a third spell at Ibrox for the striker.

Rangers manager Ally McCoist is considering a move to re-sign Kenny Miller for what would be a third spell at Ibrox for the striker.

Miller and his family have struggled to settle off the pitch in Turkey following his January move from Rangers to Bursaspor.

Miller was the top goalscorer in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League last season despite leaving in the winter, having struck 21 goals.

McCoist, who has lost striker Kyle Lafferty for the season opener against Hearts with a groin injury, said: “Kenny has never been out of my thoughts.

“He is a player who did very, very well for us.

“I certainly wouldn’t rule Kenny out but I haven’t spoken to him at any great length about it because he is still under contract at Bursaspor.

“It’s an avenue we will look at as Kenny ticks all the boxes in terms of what we’re looking for.

“I’d imagine I’ll be speaking to him again in the next couple of days.”
