Gardaí launch murder investigation in slurry-pit body find

A murder investigation was launched in west Cork today, where the body of a man was discovered in a slurry pit on a farm near Dunmanway on Thursday.

A murder investigation was launched in west Cork today, where the body of a man was discovered in a slurry pit on a farm near Dunmanway on Thursday.

The results of a post mortem examination carried out at Cork University Hospital have determined that the man who was in mid-30s died as a result of head injuries.

An incident room has been set up at Clonakilty Garda Station, and anyone with information that may be of use to detectives is being asked to call in confidence on 021-2321570.
