Texas singer delighted at pregnancy
Texas singer Sharleen Spiteri is expecting her first baby.
The 34-year-old star is due to give birth in September.
She and her partner, 32-year-old magazine executive Ashley Heath, don't yet know if the baby will be a boy or a girl.
Sharleen said she was delighted to discover she was pregnant.
"I'm really happy and it's great news," she said.
The couple have been together for seven years and Spiteri has made no secret of her yearning for a child.
"Yes, I would like to have kids without a doubt and have done for a long time," she said in an interview 18 months ago.
The Glasgow-born star, who lives in north London, will continue writing and recording material for the new Texas album up to the birth, said her spokesman.
