Lifeboat rescues seven divers off Wexford coast

Seven divers have been rescued from a boat off the coast of Co Wexford.

Seven divers have been rescued from a boat off the coast of Co Wexford.

The divers were four kilometres south east of Hook Head when the engine on their boat failed.

Three of the seven were airlifted by the Waterford Coast Guard rescue helicopter while a further four were taken to safety by the Fethard lifeboat who were on a training exercise in the area.

The Dunmore East lifeboat is towing the boat, the Naas Two, to port.

It is understood that none of the divers suffered any injuries in the incident.
