The number of deaths on Irish roads continues to rise without sign of slowing.

The death toll has risen to 184 for the year, as two people died in two separate accidents in counties Wicklow and Dublin.

One person died in a three-vehicle collision in Co Wicklow involving two cars and a truck at about 8am today.

The accident, which occurred on the Enniskerry road near Kiltiernan, happened when one car crashed into a wall and another car collided into the back of it.

Two passengers in one of the cars was taken to Vincent’s hospital while the driver was confirmed dead on arrival at Loughlinstown hospital, the driver of the truck was also treated for shock.

Another accident took place on the N84 in west Dublin when two cars collided head on, one person died in the incident.
