German defender Ziege to retire

German international Christian Ziege has announced his retirement.

German international Christian Ziege has announced his retirement.

The 33-year-old defender has suffered from ankle problems this season and has been troubled by various injuries throughout his career.

Ziege made 72 appearances for Germany from 1993 to 2004.

His career included spells with Bayern Munich, AC Milan, Middlesbrough, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.
