It has been a mixed start for the Irish on the opening day of competition at the European Championships in Helsinki today.
Waterford's Thomas Barr ran a season's best as he qualified out of his heat in second place in the 400 metres hurdles, but Jason Harvey finished outside the top three of his race so is unlikely to get through as a fastest loser.
Down's Amy Foster finished 7th in her 100 metres heats and fails to progress.
Jessie Barr is in the women's 400 metres hurdles at 12.30pm.
Paralympic gold medallist Jason Smyth has qualified for the next round of the 100 metres after finishing fourth in his heat.
Brian Gregan is in the 400 metres flat at 11.35am.
