Three changes for Leitrim

There are three changes to the Leitrim team for Sunday's Connacht SFC semi-final against Mayo at Elverys McHale Park (throw-in 3.30pm).

Out of the side that started against London in the last round go James Glancy from St. Mary's, Ciaran Egan and Daniel Lowe.

Daniel Beck returns from injury to take Glancy's place at right corner back with Fabian McMorrow shifting to full-back to fill in for Ciaran Egan who was recently dropped for disciplinary reasons.

Former Longford player Enda Williams, who impressed as a substitute in the win over London, comes in at centre-back.

The third new inclusion is Shane Moran from Ballinamore Seán O’Heslins who is set for his first Championship start at midfield. He has been brought in to replace the injured Daniel Lowe.

Goalkeeper Cathal McCrann is quietly confident that Leitrim have it in them to trouble much-fancied Mayo, who have been without a competitive game since their Division 1 final defeat to Cork eight weeks ago.

"Mayo will be hot favourites but if we can work hard, we have a chance and that is all we're looking for," he told the Leitrim Observer.

"When we started out at the end of the year, we were concentrating on London but the winners went on to play Mayo.

“Mayo are Connacht champions and National League finalists but they are the teams you want to be playing so we’re looking forward to it.

"Their forwards are well experienced, they’ve been there a good while. They gave Dublin a good beating in Castlebar and we’ll really have to punch above our weight to control that forward line.

"(Andy) Moran is very good player, he lets them take over, (Conor) Mortimer is going to be very hard handled but that is what you play county football for, you want to play against these guys."

LEITRIM (SFC v Mayo): Cathal McCrann; Daniel Beck, Fabian McMorrow, Paddy Maguire (capt); Colm Clarke, Enda Williams, Wayne McKeon; Darren Sweeney, Shane Moran; Paul Brennan, Emlyn Mulligan, Paddy McGowan; Ray Cox, James Glancy, Adrian Croal.
