A Polish man is attempting to marry a painting, after he failed to find the model who posed for it.

Tomasz Urynowicz, 37, has spent 10 years trying to find out who modelled for a picture he owns of a brown-haired girl hanging up laundry - and after having no luck has decided to just commit himself to the work of art itself.

He said he had attempted to find the "absolute beauty" to "see who she is and what her life has been like".

However, after asking many locals in his area if they have ever known a girl who looks like the one in the picture, he has admitted defeat and is now searching for a priest who will marry him to the inanimate object.
