A yacht feared missing on the Atlantic has sailed into Portmagee harbour in Kerry this afternoon.

The crew of two, a 60-year-old New Zealander and a 69-year-old Norwegian, are safe and well after not being heard from in weeks.

They had sailed from Bermuda on August 21 and were due to arrive in Crookhaven Co. Cork on September 15.

When the boat failed to show up, it was feared that it had been caught up in the aftermath of Hurricane Katia.

The pair sailed into Portmagee harbour just before 3pm this afternoon.
