Tom George is mulling the options for Nacarat after a lacklustre performance on unsuitable ground at Aintree last Sunday.
The 10-year-old was sent off a 7-4 chance for a three-mile-one-furlong Listed event but was last of three finishers behind Master Of The Hall.
George felt the heavy ground took its toll that day and has not ruled out a crack at the William Hill King George VI Chase on December 26 should the ground be on the quicker side.
He said: “I felt a bit sorry for him last week. There were only four runners but he was well in at the weights and we hoped we might get away with it.
“He’s come out of it exceptionally well, he’s been off around the farm and we’re just freshening him up a bit.
“We don’t really have any plans at the moment but he’s in the King George and if he’s well and the ground is good, we might have a look at that.
“The ground would have to be good to be taking on those horses but we will see nearer the time.
“If he doesn’t run there, I think we might give him a break and bring him back in the spring for Aintree. We know he likes it there.”
