GAA: Waterford defeat Laois by double scores

Goals from John Mullane, Seamus Prendergast and second-half substitute Anthony Kirwan set up Waterford for an easy victory over a poor Laois outfit at Dungarvan.

Goals from John Mullane, Seamus Prendergast and second-half substitute Anthony Kirwan set up Waterford for an easy victory over a poor Laois outfit at Dungarvan.

Waterford, despite playing against a strong wind lead at half-time by 1-10 to 0-05 - the goal coming from MUllane in the second minute.

Laois got the ideal start to the second half when full-forward James Young goaled inside 25 secs of the re-start to cut the deficit to five points.

Waterford's reply was decisive with Séamus Prendergast goaling within two mins to see his side lead by double scores and from there to the finish Waterford were the dominant side.
