Taoiseach commends Flynn's work

The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has given his response to the resignation of Phil Flynn as chairman of the decentralisation committee, as a result of a Garda investigation into money-laundering.

The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has given his response to the resignation of Phil Flynn as chairman of the decentralisation committee, as a result of a Garda investigation into money-laundering.

Mr Flynn, a former trade union leader, has also resigned as Chairperson of the Bank of Scotland and as a board member of the VHI.

He has denied any wrongdoing.

Bertie Ahern has thanked Mr Flynn for his work to date and said he has contributed to many areas of public policy.
