Ireland’s inflation rate fell to 1.3% last month, according to figures published today by the Central Statistics Office.

Ireland’s inflation rate fell to 1.3% last month, according to figures published today by the Central Statistics Office.

The CSO said prices increased by 0.4% during the month, compared to a 0.8% rise in March of last year.

This brought the annual inflation rate down from 1.7% at the end of February to 1.3% at the end of last month.

The most notable annual price changes were a 6.4% increase in health charges, a 5.9% increase in education costs, a 5.1% increase in the cost of communications and a 4.2% increase in the price of alcohol and tobacco.
