Protesters to launch anti-Household Charge hotline number

The campaign against the Household Charge is being stepped up a gear today with the launch of a new hotline number.

Those opposed to the €100 fee are hoping that a million households will refuse to pay and are encouraging members of the public not to register for the payment.

Organisers are scheduling nationwide meetings to bolster support for the cause.

The new anti-Household Charge hotline number will be launched today at 1pm in Buswells Hotel, Kildare St, Dublin.

Activists, as well as TDs opposed to the tax, will have a banner and t-shirts promoting the 1890 number outside the Dáil afterwards.
