Bolivia’s government is seeking to negotiate an end to a weeks-long protest that cut off road access to a region popular with tourists.

Bolivia’s government is seeking to negotiate an end to a weeks-long protest that cut off road access to a region popular with tourists.

The protest outside the southern mining city of Potosi temporarily trapped scores of European tourists.

It also shut down local banks, schools and markets.

Potosi miners have a series of grievances with the government of President Evo Morales.

They include a demand to reopen mines that officials ordered closed.
