MacSuibhne drafted to replace Dickie Murphy as referee

Aodhan MacSuibhne has been drafted in to replace Dickie Murphy as referee of Sunday's All-Ireland SHC semi-final between Kilkenny and Tipperary.

Aodhan MacSuibhne has been drafted in to replace Dickie Murphy as referee of Sunday's All-Ireland SHC semi-final between Kilkenny and Tipperary.

Wexford whistle blower Murphy had originally signaled his intent to break the referee's strike in the Model County and take charge of the game.

But he has since back tracked and the Games Administration Committee today revealed that MacSuibhne would be stepping in.

Raparees club man Murphy and his county colleagues are striking following the decision of the county's Disciplinary Committee to over rule two red cards handed out by Syl Doyle in a recent club game.
