The Taoiseach is under pressure from an eight-year-old Kilkenny boy who is accusing him of hurting his parents and Ireland.

Evan Tynan Geary, from Piltown in Co Kilkenny has written a letter to Brian Cowen telling him that his mammy and daddy have worked very hard and now have to pay lots of money.

Evan's mother Aoife said her son had noticed she was away from home more because she had been forced to let staff go from her business.

She said Evan was also concerned that the recession might mean that Santa would not be making toys this Christmas.
