The Syrian conflict is expected to be the main focus when the Taoiseach attends the British-Irish Council Summit in London later.
Enda Kenny will join leaders including the North’s Secretary of State, Theresa Villiers, for talks on a range of issues including the refugee crisis and the Stormont Agreement.
The British-Irish Council was set up in 1998, the same year as the Good Friday Agreement, to foster positive, practical relationships between the two nations.
Today's London summit will be the twenty fifth to be held since its inaugural meeting.
The Council is likely to discuss the Stormont House Agreement, which recently experienced a breakthrough, after 10 weeks of talks to save the power-sharing deal.
But the topics will also take on a global outlook, covering the conflict in Syria and the refugee situation in Europe and the Middle East.
The meeting also provides the opportunity for the Taoiseach to update Council members on Ireland's economic recovery and growth since the last summit meeting in June.
